Trump’s Victory, Kamala’s Lies, Abortion, and Other Thoughts on the 2024 Election

By Gary F. Zeolla

Much has already been said and written about the results of the USA election on November 5, 2024. But in this article, I will look at it from a Christian perspective and focus on the issues of most concern to Christians.

Kalama Lies and Abortion

I had predicted back in August 2024 that Trump would lose the election due to his abandonment of a prolife position on abortion (see August 2024 Political Commentaries). My reasoning was not that evangelicals and pro-lifers would vote for Kamala Harris. That would have made no sense. Although Trump is now pro-choice, Kamala is full-bore pro-abortion. She actively promotes abortion as being a moral good.

My thought was that evangelicals and pro-lifers simply would not vote. And not only that, but they would also not actively work or campaign for Trump. This supposition seemed to be verified by an article in the Christian Post. It reported about a study that found 32 million regular church-goers were not planning on voting. One reason was, “none of the candidates reflect their most important views” (Christian Post. More than). Meanwhile, those whose primary issue was “abortion rights” would still vote for Kamala. What I didn’t count on was the degree that Kamala would lie about Trump and his positions.

Simply put, every time Kamala mentioned about Trump in a speech or interview, or he was mentioned in a Kamala campaign ad, it was to tell a lie about him or to distort or take out of context something he had said. From the “good people on both sides” hoax to the “putting Liz Cheney before a firing squad” deception (see November 2024 Political Commentaries), she repeated every distortion and lie about Trump that had ever been put forth by Democrats and the mainstream media.

But in regard to abortion, Kamala often repeated the lie that Trump would sign a national abortion ban. That was a lie, as Trump had said repeatedly that he would not. His position is now that it is in the hands of the states and that the federal government no longer has any role in regard to abortion.

Though depressing from a pro-life perspective, that position proved to be politically expedient. I heard an interview of a first-time, college-age, female voter who said to women her age it was “dumb” to vote for Kamala just because of abortion for this very reason, that it was now a state issue not a federal one. I am sure many other pro-choicers voted for Trump with that same attitude.

On the other hand, I would bet there were many staunch pro-lifers who heard Kamala’s lie that Trump would sign a national abortion ban, believed that lie, and thus voted for Trump for that very reason. Consequently, Kamala’s lie in this regard backfired.

Out of Context Lies

I have been exposing the many lies about Trump told by Democrats and the mainstream media ever since Trump rode down the golden escalator back in May of 2015. This can be seen throughout my politics website, in my articles and commentaries, and in my political books.

The most disturbing is the way both take Trump’s words out of context. The reason for that is I have gotten very sensitive to such due to the way people take Bible verses out of context. I talk about that in my many Christian writings, on my Christian website, in various issues of this newsletter, and in my Christian books (such as my Scripture Workbook: Third Edition). Looking for such distortions of the Bible has made me more aware of other words being taken out of context.

To distort the Bible or anyone’s words in this regard is despicable. That is why I jump on it when people do it with the Bible and with Trump. It is a form of lying and deceitfulness, and the Bible is clear that any and all lies and deceit is wrong to the point of being a damnable sin.

16“You will not give false testimony against your neighbor, [giving] false testimony (Exodus 20:16).

6You will destroy all the ones speaking the falsehood; the LORD abhors a man of bloodsheds and [who is] deceitful (Psalm 5:6).

44You* are from your* father the Devil, and the desires of your* father you* want to be doing. That one was a murderer from [the] beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he tells a lie, out of his own he speaks, because he is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44).

8But we know that [the] Law [is] good, if anyone makes use of it lawfully, 9knowing this: that law is not laid down for a righteous [person] but for lawless and insubordinate [people], for ungodly [people] and for sinful [people], for impious [people] and for profane [or, worldly] [people], for killers of fathers and for killers of mothers, for murderers, 10for fornicators, for participants in male-male sex [or, sodomites], for slave traders [or, kidnappers], for liars, for perjurers, and if anything else is in opposition to sound teaching (1Timothy 1:9-10).

8But to the cowardly and unbelieving and sinful [people] and [people] having been corrupted and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and all the liars, their part [will be] in the lake, the one being burned with fire and sulfur [or, brimstone], which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8).

Now, I know many people claim Trump tells lies all of the time. But what Trump generally does is exaggerate to make a point. That is not lying, as Jesus did the same, “Blind guides! The ones straining out the gnat but swallowing the camel!” (Matthew 23:24). For more in this regard, see the chapter “Christianity Today Editorial” in my book Dems Cannot Beat Trump, So They Impeach Trump: Volume Two.

“Dictator on Day One” vs. “Dictator for One Day”

Let me give one example of what I am referring to here. It is a distortion of Trump’s words that I have not written about previously.

Kamala, Democrats, and the mainstream media claim Trump declared he would be a “dictator on day one.” They then expanded on those words to claim he would be a fascist, a Nazi, even Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin all rolled into one. They further said those words meant Trump would take away people’s rights, was a threat to democracy, there would be no more elections, and that he would never leave office.

But is that what Trump said?

These words were spoken at a townhall meeting hosted by Fox News’ Sean Hannity. What Trump said was, “I will be a dictator for one day.” He then explained that by that he meant he would issue executive orders to close the southern border and to “drill baby drill.”

These executive orders would reverse executive orders that Biden issued in his first week in office that opened up the border and restricted drilling on federal lands, such as in ANWR (Alaskan National Wildlife Reserve). Those Biden executive orders reversed Trump’s executive orders that he had issued during his first term in office. I list and discuss all of Biden’s executive orders in his first weeks in office in my book Joe Biden Tweets During the First Year of His Failing Presidency: Volume One, Reversing Trump, while Dividing and Destroying America.

The “Reversing Trump” in the subtitle is a reference to Biden doing this very thing—issuing executive orders that reversed successful Trump policies that led to the massive increase in illegal border crossings and the spike in oil prices that occurred during Biden’s presidency.

But here, all Trump was saying with his reference to being a dictator was what always happens when a new administration takes office—executive orders are issued that reverse the policies of the previous administration. For Kamala, Dems, and the media to distort Trump’s words by misquoting them and taking them out of context was truly despicable.

This is similar to Peter writing:

16as also in all his [Paul’s] letters, speaking in them concerning these [things], in which are some [things] difficult to be understood, which the untaught and unstable twist [fig., distort] to their own destruction, as [they do] also the rest of [the] Scriptures (2Peter 3:16).

It is because of me being sensitive to people distorting the Bible that I have become attuned to people distorting the words of Trump and others. For more examples in this regard in regards to Trump, see the chapter “Donald Trump’s Alleged Racism” in my book Alleged Corruption, Bias, and Fraud

Abortion Referendums

Ten states had abortion referendums on their ballots. Most of these were to codify the “right” of a woman to kill her preborn baby into the respective state’s constitution. Unfortunately for preborn babies, seven of these measures passed by wide margins, but three failed. These were in Florida, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Each of these three failed for a different reason.

In Florida, 57% of voters voted to approve such a measure. However, Florida requires a 60% threshold to amend its state’s constitution. That is as it should be, as it should be difficult to amend a state constitution, just as it is to amend the US Constitution. But most states only require a 50% threshold to be bettered to amend their state’s constitution.

That was the case in Ohio last year. A referendum was held in the summer to increase the threshold to 60%, but it failed. Then in November, an amendment was passed with a simple majority to codify “abortion rights” into its constitution.

The moral is, states with protections for preborn babies by law but not by constitutional amendment should update their laws so that a 60% threshold is needed to amend their constitution to prevent a baby-killing measure from being codified into their constitutions.

In South Dakota, a measure to codify a right to an abortion into its constitution failed soundly, by a 60% margin.

In Nebraska, its protection for preborn babies after 12 weeks was codified into its constitution, while a proposed amendment to allow the killing of unborn babies before that time was defeated. But the successful measure was a “compromise” in that most abortions occur before 12 weeks. But still, it is better than allowing abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy or even until “viability” (about 24 weeks) as was done in the seven states that passed such measures.

Thus, it was only in South Dakota that a majority of the state’s voters voted to fully protect preborn lives. Meanwhile, in the other seven states, measures to allow the killing of preborn babies passed easily, most with more than that a 60% margin, meaning they would have passed even if such a higher threshold were needed to codify the killing of babies into their state’s constitution.

Consequently, prolifers and evangelicals have a lot of work to do to change the hearts and minds of Americans to realize the barbaric nature of the killing of unborn babies. But that is hard to do when pro-abortionists frame such measures in terms of the “right of women to do what they want with their own bodies.” That statement is absurd, as I explain in my book God’s Sex Plan: Volume One. But sadly, most Americans take it at face value.

Also absurd is the claim women are dying due to pro-life laws. Take, for instance, the two cases Tim Waltz mentioned in the Vice-Presidential debate. He claimed the women died due to not being treated for miscarriages due to prolife laws in their states. But in reality, those women died due to taking baby-killing drugs. As happens with one out of twenty women who take such drugs, they experienced complications, which required visits to the emergency room.

The overall complication rate of medication abortion after an appropriate in-person evaluation is 5.2%, based on a large study, and the risks of adverse events increase with advancing gestational age (American Family Physician. Risks).

All prolife laws allow treatment in such cases. It was on the ER doctors who refused treatment for not knowing the law. But most of all, the story here should be the danger of such drugs to not only the separate and distinct human being within a pregnant woman but to the mother herself. But sadly, J. D, Vance let Waltz get away with this misrepresentation and put the focus on prolife laws rather than the dangerous baby-killing drug.

Trans Insanity

The most effective Trump campaign advertisement was one which depicted male athletes towering over and defeating female athletes in various sporting events. At the end was the words, “She’s for They/ Them. He’s for You.” A pundit on CNN called this add “vicious.” However, 69% of Americans are opposed to males participating in female sports.

A larger majority of Americans now (69%) than in 2021 (62%) say transgender athletes should only be allowed to compete on sports teams that conform with their birth gender. Likewise, fewer endorse transgender athletes being able to play on teams that match their current gender identity, 26%, down from 34% (Gallup. More Say).

In addition to males participating in women’s sports, during the Biden/ Harris administration, we’ve seen males entering female private spaces, tampons in school boy’s rooms, claims there are more than two genders, taxpayer-funded sex change operations for illegal aliens and prisoners, teenagers being given hormones and having perfectly healthy body parts cut off or altered, and parents losing custody of their children if they refuse to go along with their children’s “transitioning” to the opposite gender. All of this would have been ramped up during a Harris/ Walz administration.

I document and discuss each of these points in my various Christian and political writings, especially in my series of books on Sex and the Bible and Joe Biden’s Failing Presidency. See also see Biden: Promoting the Sinful and Destructive LGBTQ Movement: References.

Americans recognized this distortion of reality and voted against it by voting for Trump, who made it clear he did not go along with any of it. That as a very good thing for America and for truth and reality. With the Trump victory, we should see a curtailment of all of this insanity and unbiblical nonsense “But answering, He [Jesus] said, 'Did you* not read that the One having made [them] from [the] beginning made them male and female’” (Matthew 19:4).

SCOTUS

President-elect Donald Trump could have a chance to solidify the Supreme Court’s Republican-appointed majority for decades to come after he was elected to a second term in the White House on Tuesday….

John Roberts, the chief justice, is 70, while Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas are 74 and 76, respectively.

In a less likely scenario, the retirement of a Democratic-appointed justice would clear the way for that majority to expand to 7-2 (Washington Examiner. How).

In the past several years, since Trump’s first term in office, there have been many cases regarding freedom of religion and of speech that have been decided by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). Most all of those cases have been decided in favor of religious freedom and free speech.

That is due to the three conservative Supreme Court Justices appointed by Donald Trump during his first term in office. If Hillary Clinton had won in 2016 and had made those three appointments, they would have been liberal Justices, and those cases most likely would have gone the other way, and we would be living in a very different American, where freedom of religion and speech would be being curtailed.

We probably would have gone the way of the United Kingdom, where *silent* prayer outside of baby-killing clinics has been effectively banned. Thus, we would be living in George Orwell’s 1984, with its “thought-police.”

So-called buffer zones outside abortion clinics across England and Wales are now in place.

Silent prayer, which has been a point of contention, is not an automatic offence but people doing this within the zones could be liable for prosecution, according to new guidance (Independent. What).

With three of the conservative Justices being 70 or older, it is possible one or more of them will retire or pass away in the next four years. In fact, the two oldest should retire, so that Trump can replace them with younger but equally conservative Justices. That will ensure a conservative SCOTUS for many years to come and continued protection for religious freedom and free speech.

This is important, as if Kamala had won, she would have appointed liberal Justices, who would not have voted to protect religious liberty and free speech. That is especially important, since she had plans for a national law allowing women to kill their unborn babies. When asked if such a law would include religious exemptions, she said “no,” as getting an abortion is a “fundamental right.”

Thus, doctors and nurses who believe the basic medical dictum of “do no harm” would have been forced to do the great harm of killing preborn babies, while prolife pharmacists would have been forced to fill prescriptions for dangerous baby-killing drugs.

The problem is, religious freedom is an articulated protected right in the US Constitution, while the “right” to kill preborn babies is nowhere mentioned. Thus, she wanted to substitute her made-up right for a Constitutional right. This is similar to Jesus saying to the Pharisees:

8For having left behind [or, having neglected] the commandment of God, you* keep the handed down tradition of people…

13[thus] nullifying the word of God for your* handed down tradition, which you* handed down (Mark 15:5a; 13a).

It is because of me being sensitive to people adding to the Bible’s commands, especially in a way that in effect nullifies clear Biblical commands, that I have become sensitive to people adding to the US Constitution, especially in a way that nullifies its clear dictates.

Why Did Kamala Lose?

Conclusion

Democrats and the media have been wringing their hands and minds, trying to figure out why Kamala lost. Many are blaming it on Americans being racist, sexists, or other such negative labels. But in fact, Kamala lost because she was a terrible candidate, with terrible (far left) policies, which most Americans reject. Americans also rejected Kamala’s “nothing but lies” approach towards Trump.

For the protection of truth and reality and a slowdown of the decay of morality and of sanity in our country, I thank the LORD that Trump won. But it is just that, a slowdown of the decay of America. Even with a GOP-controlled Congress, Trump’s victory is not the answer to America’s problems.

The ultimate answer is a revival of the Christian faith and of respect for the Bible. As important as politics are, the spread of the Gospel and of Biblical truth are far more important. As such, I will now move from writing so much about politics to focusing more on my Christian writings. I will still write an occasional article or commentary for my politics website, but I doubt I will write another politics book for quite some time.

Instead, I will focus on adding content to my Christian website and writing Christian books, and most of all, on working on my update of my translation of the Bible, as discussed in the previous issue of this Darkness to Light Newsletter. I will also continue to add to my fitness website and my Covid website and to publish my FitTips for One and All newsletter, but my main focus will be on Christian writings.
