God's Cup
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also" (Matthew 23: 25,26; KJV).
For many years I went to church and smiled, hugged people, sang, and even read the Bible, but inside I was full of anger, hatred, and despair. I tried to fool people that I was happy and everything was okay, however I couldn't fool Jesus.
Joyce Landorf says on one of her teaching tapes, "The people you sit next to in church may look absolutely darling, but inside they are dying." When it was time for us to shake hands and greet one another, if someone gave me a hug, it gave me the strength to make it through that day.
One of the best church services I ever attended was many years ago in Texas. The choir had just sung their special, and the pastor stood up to preach. He had only said about ten words, when someone went up to the altar and kneeled and started weeping. Within five minutes, the altar was full of people crying their hearts out because of the message in the song that the choir sang. The pastor stopped preaching, looked at us and said, "God is moving in our midst and I am letting Him take over the service."
The lady that was playing the organ stopped playing, went and knelt at the altar, and started weeping. The testimony of her leaving the organ to kneel has made a tremendous impact on my life. I have never forgotten that day.
You may have on your best clothes, had your hair fixed at the beauty shop the day before, but what about your heart? Is it clean and beautiful on the inside? When Jesus looks inside your heart, does He see His Love, or does He see anger, hatred, and desperation in your heart?
God's Gloves
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11: 28-30; KJV).
The last two days the arthritis in my hands has made it very painful to type. This morning, I was going to go soak my hands in hot water, as hot as I could stand, then Jesus gave me an idea. He said to put on my gloves and wear them while it hurts. Within five minutes of putting on the gloves, the pain stopped. I am wearing them as I type this, and my hands are not hurting.
Is your heart broken and you don't think you can go another day with this devastating pain? Jesus is calling you to come to Him. He is waiting with His Gloves of Love and Rest to warm your heart. Allow Jesus to put His Gloves on your heart and soul.
You don't have to face the turmoil and heartache of this life by yourself. Jesus wants to protect and comfort you, but He won't force Himself on you. You have to be the one to go to Him, and ask Him for help.
Give all your heartaches to Jesus and you will experience a Peace and Joy that you have never known. Do you need His Gloves of Peace and Rest today? f so, please don't wait. Go to Him now and crawl up on His Lap and hold out your hands to Him.
God's Heart Specialists
"I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation" (Psalm 40: 10; KJV).
The world needs people who are spreading the lovingkindness of Jesus. We can teach and preach about the events of the Bible, but if we don't first tell people how great Jesus is, and how much He loves them, then it is in vain.
Joyce Landorf says on one of her teaching tapes, "We need to witness, that is a truism, but they won't believe us unless we first show them the love of Jesus."
When I was wandering in the wilderness and desperation of my heart for all those long years, I heard many sermons preached. The invitation to accept Jesus as Saviour was given, but I never heard how much Jesus loves me in a personal way. I never heard anyone in all those years tell Jesus, "I love You, Jesus." I didn't know Jesus really cared for me.
Are you specializing in learning the heart of Jesus so you can tell others of His amazing love and mercy? Before we can be effective for Him, we have to allow Him to operate on our hearts and get rid of all the anger, bitterness, resentment, and hatred that we have kept there for so many years.
Keep teaching and preaching, but please tell others of the loving kindness of the heart of Jesus. I urge you to become one of God's Heart Specialists.
