Revelation 7
1And after this, I saw four angels having stood at the four corners of the earth holding the four winds of the earth, so that a wind would not blow on the land nor on the sea nor on any tree. 2And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun [fig. from the east] having [the] seal of [the] living God. And he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to damage the land and the sea, 3saying, “Do not damage the land nor the sea nor the trees until we seal the slaves of our God on their foreheads.”
4And I heard the number of the ones having been sealed--one hundred and forty-four thousand having been sealed out of every tribe of [the] sons of Israel: 5Out of [the] tribe of Judah twelve thousand having been sealed; out of [the] tribe of Reuben twelve thousand; out of [the] tribe of Gad twelve thousand; 6out of [the] tribe of Asher twelve thousand; out of [the] tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand; out of [the] tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand; 7out of [the] tribe of Simon twelve thousand; out of [the] tribe of Levi twelve thousand; out of [the] tribe of Issachar twelve thousand; 8out of [the] tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand; out of [the] tribe of Joseph twelve thousand; out of [the] tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand having been sealed.
9After these [things] I saw,
and look!, a large crowd, which no one was being able to number, out of every
nation and from tribes and people and tongues, having stood before the throne
and before the Lamb having been clothed in long, white robes and palm branches
in their hands. 10And they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “The
salvation [belongs] to our God, the One sitting on the throne, and to the
Lamb!”
11And all the angels had
stood around the throne, and the elders and the four living creatures, and they
fell down on their face[s] before the throne and prostrated themselves in
worship before God, 12saying, “Amen! The blessing and the glory and
the wisdom and the thanksgiving and the honor and the power and the strength
[belong] to our God into the ages of the ages! [fig., forever and ever!] So be
it!”
13And one of the elders
answered, saying to me, “These, the ones having been clothed with the long,
white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?” 14And I
said to him, “My Lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the
ones coming out of the great tribulation, and they washed their long robes and
made [them] white in the blood of the Lamb. 15For this reason they
are before the throne of God, and they sacredly serve Him day and night in His
Temple. And the One sitting on the throne will spread [His] tabernacle over
[fig., will shelter] them. 16They will not hunger [any] longer, nor
by any means will they thirst [any] longer, nor will the sun fall [fig., beat
down] on them, nor any heat. 17Because the Lamb, the [One] in [the]
center of the throne, shepherds them. And He leads them to fountains of waters
of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
