Changes and Alternate Readings

The two "Changes" pages below list the changes that were made from the first edition of the Byzantine Majority Text (1991) to the second edition (2005).  The first edition of the Analytical Literal Translation (ALT) was based on the first edition of the Byzantine text; the second and third editions of the ALT on the second edition of the Byzantine text.

The two "Alternate Readings" pages list footnoted, alternative readings from the second edition of the Byzantine text. These represent places where the Byzantine Greek texts are closely divided.

All readings are translated as they occur in the ALT or would occur if the ALT used the alternate readings.

The Alternate Readings listed here are based on ALT2. For an updated list based on ALT3, see the Companion Volume to the ALT.
